Thank you @wrenchbender. However, I would need the 4-Pin model correct?
Regardless of what I do in MS Outlook my serverbuild email notifications always end up in my junk folder. Never block sender’s domain doesn’t work nor does highlighting the message and selecting Not Junk. Very bizarre!!!
3 pin works fine for cooling the card, don’t really need pwm. I would worry about the 4 pin following the cpu cooler and not providing enough air enough to cool the card. On the MB the 3 pin connector from the fan will plug into 4 pin header.
Anybody run into issues with the ASR-7805 Adaptec on a X11SCA-F motherboard? Any ideas or help is appreciated.
As soon as I add the Adaptec card, the system does not want to boot, no beeps, nothing and the orange LED next to the CPU turns on. Without the card, the system boots fine.
The red LEDs on the adaptec card remain static, and do not blink.
“I recently installed a second one of these cards in a different server. It had the tapped screw holes as well, so it seems it is a standard feature on the heatsinks.”
I just received my card and hadn’t really considered mucking around with the heatsink. I wonder if those tapped screw holes are standard on all of the ASR-71605 cards?
Spent the better part of the day searching for 2x M3-30mm screws. No luck whatsoever. May have to go with the solution that @stuffwhy proposed. Tie wraps. I guess there is always Amazon
Thanks for your input Ed. Hardware stores are few and far between where I am located (Montreal Canada) Seems that they went the way of the dinosaur I’m afraid. I waited long enough for the ASR-71605 and the required hardware. So, I keep telling myself that I want to do this right !!!
Just called the store closest to where I am located. No stock. It will take approx. 4 days. I waited long enough for the card / adaptors / cooling fan. What’s a few more days right?
Quick question. In the picture that you provided in an earlier post is the fan blowing air into the heatsink or drawing it away. Thank you again Ed @wrenchbender
