Why all the Lan ports on server boards?

I was looking into getting a server board and curious why all the Lan ports?

Example SuperMicro X10SLM±F has 4 LAN ports. Like some would connect all 4 of them? Maybe a stupid question lol.

I am guessing to connect. multiple computers so you dont need a router. Is this the case?

Links between different networks. Links direct to storage (bypassing network congestion). Link aggregation. IPMI interfaces. etc
