Use of SAS Expander

I have never had any experience in SAS Expander cards, so I thought I would ask this community.

Would I be able to use Adaptec SAS Expander 82885T , in conjuction with DELL TXCMC ASR-8405 12GB Card ?

Would this work and Would I be able to attach 28 SAS 12GB drives?

Yes, although assuming those are SSDs and you want to maximize bandwidth you might want a dual-port HBA. If they’re spinners, SAS2 is sufficient and much cheaper.
