I know this is an going questions and I get the argument of both sides but what do you guys do? do you spin off your drives or not? and if you do what is the period that you find working better? how much that go you in power savings?
If you apply strategies such as [Guide] HDDs + multiple cache pools in Unraid then IMO it’s perfectly feasible to spin down disks. IMO set the time value to about 1 hour or more, to prevent unnecessary spindowns.
