Possible to Change HDD Serial Number?

I found a good deal on some refurbished hard drives and when I added them to my server they show up correctly on the dashboard under Unassigned drives. However when I went to preclear them it is only actually preclearing one of them.

I clicked on the info for each of them individually and the Serial Number is listed as 00000000

I can’t seem to find a way to change the serial number of a hard drive so am seeing if anyone here has any ideas or if I should just return them as a lost cause (and maybe a scam) Thanks!

I’ve never seen that happen, but they were refurbished. Have you tried using sysInternals? VolumeID - Windows Sysinternals | Microsoft Docs
