Plex NAS Advice

Hi all,

I’m looking to build a NAS. It’s primary function will be as a Plex media server streaming to 2 devices at most (1 at home and 1 at my office)

I also want to use it with Radarr and Sonarr and a Torrent Client

I currently use a synology DS 216+II and it operates well but it can’t stream higher resolutions well

Would this suffice?

As i am from Europe many parts on the guides are available but have to be shipped from the USA and that costs alot

So i sourced some parts that are available in the EU

I know QuickSync is very good for it so i looked at a processor supporting it

Are these components any good or should i replace some of them?
If I buy these components now I should be paying around 354 euros

Processor
[Intel Core i3-10320 Desktop Processor 4 Cores up to 4.6 GHz LGA1200]
RAM
[G.Skill Aegis DDR4 32GB (2x16GB) 3000MHz CL16 RAM-Kit XMP 2.0]
Case
Sharkoon QB One
Power supply
Be Quiet! 500w SFX L, fully modular, 80+ gold
Motherboard
[ASRock Z490M Pro4 LGA1200 Micro-ATX]
Main Drive (for OS)
[fanxiang 512GB] → Cheap Chinese brand, any other good M2 drive priced the same?

What OS should i run for my operating needs? I dont plan on having extra HDD for backup only so all my drives should act as 1 storage

any fairly modern i3 or i5 CPU will be more than fine since you will want your client to do any necessary transcoding for the video. truenas or unraid will fit your purpose since your requirements are fairly straightforward.
