I have a Dell vostro 270s with a core i5 as my pfsense box. Got it for $100 and came with a windows 10 license I was able to use on another machine. Looking at ebay , they have actually gone up in price it seems.

Which i5 though?

CPU Type Intel(R) Core™ i5-3450S CPU @ 2.80GHz

Current: 2800 MHz, Max: 2801 MHz

4 CPUs: 1 package(s) x 4 core(s)

AES-NI CPU Crypto: Yes (active)

Should also mention I have symmetrical 1Gbps fiber and the vostro box handles it beautify even with multiple security packages running. My old “Gaming router” topped out at a measly 440 mbps without any real IDS or IPS.
