Light vs dark mode

Is there any way to force light mode? Black background websites always mess with my eyes to the point of trying to minimize my time on them. I searched in my settings, specifically interface I would have thought, but see no option.

Thanks!

On Windows? Under accounts you can set the default to White, Black or Grey. Web sites control their background, some are nice enough to automatically switch.

You can force light mode using browser extensions like “Dark Reader” (which allows you to customize the color scheme) or use browser developer tools to override the CSS. In Chrome, you can go to Settings > Appearance > Themes and pick a light theme if it’s supported by the site.

Light mode has been enabled! It’s under Preferences > Interface > Theme. Dark Mode is still the default though.

Totally get that—dark backgrounds can be tough on the eyes for some. While some websites have a built-in light/dark mode toggle, many don’t. If you’re not seeing an option in the site settings or interface preferences, you might try using a browser extension like “Dark Reader” or “Super Simple High Contrast” that lets you force light mode or invert styles per site. Alternatively, some browsers like Firefox or Chrome allow custom CSS or accessibility settings to override page colors globally. What browser are you using? I can point you to a specific solution.
