Since I happen to have had both the 590s and 580s in house for a bit I decided to record a side by side comparison between the two over a variety of music and movie clips. This isn’t the most scientific comparison but hopefully it is still useful for folks.
All music is running in 2.0 with just the towers and the movie clips are running 3.0 using the JBL 520c center channel. All speakers are driven by the Rotel RMB-1075 and audio is recorded from the central seating position in the room using a Rode VideoMicro.
