HP S01-pf1013w Baker 8768 mobo says I can use i5-10400. I have an i5-10500. All specs are the same except for slight speed increase. Does anyone know if the 10500 will work? I am computer illiterate and this is my first forum so I am not too good navigating it! I tried and could not find any posts that mentioned but there was one from March 2021 [Official] HP S01-pf1013w Owner’s Thread and Review by JDM_WAAAT that was LOADED with info, but alas, nothing on 10500.
10400 and 10500 are of the same socket and generation. you should be fine to use it in that motherboard.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER:)
An i5-10500 will work anywhere an i5-10400 does. Really any 10th gen Intel “Core” processor will work.
Certainly any
i3, i5, i7 - 10XXX Intel Processor should work with that motherboard. An i9 will work with the socket, but you would need to confirm that your PSU and Motherboard can supply enough power for an i9.
