Can anyone advise how to get the computer running PfSense to reboot after power outage? I am running PfSense on an HP-290.
I am no expert but on every computer I have used there is a setting in the BIOS to control what happens when power is lost. The wording can be different from one BIOS to another but in the Power section of the BIOS you should find a setting that is worded something like “What to do after loss of power” and it usually has options similar to the following: “Power Off”, “Power On”, and “Return to Last State”. If you can find that setting in your BIOS and make sure that it is set to “Power On” it should boot the computer back up once the power has been restored. Setting it to “Return to Last State” probably should work also but if you want to be certain that it starts back up when the power comes back on then the “Power On” option is probably the best choice.
