I would like to open by apologizing if this is in the wrong place, I don’t use internet forums often but was recommended here by the folks over at pc part picker. I made a post over there asking to create a parts list for a server. I will copy it here.
I’m looking to spend $600-700 tops on this. (If you can make this system do the job under that budget then I welcome you to send me the list.)
I’m from the U.S. (Florida specifically)
My needs from the system are:

Light AI stuff (just fucking around)
This thing doesn’t have to look aesthetic but if y’all can manage it that would actually be sick.
Size/Form factor doesn’t matter.
I’m totally willing (and actually preferring) to go used to save money!!!
Note: I have hard drives for storage! Bought in bulk from facebook marketplace and copped two 1tb, two 750gb, and a 640gb hard drive. Let me know if you think I still need an ssd to boot anyway.
No worries on the peripherals or monitors. I’ll figure those out myself.
I would, however, like any recommendations you guys have on operating systems and software that I can use to do the things I’m hoping to do with this machine. I’m not too experienced on server software but I would love any resources you could provide. Thank you!
