I used a cheap USB amplified one like this with an LTE filter and it worked great. That said, I live very downtown so signal isn’t exactly lacking. If I were farther away, I’d have used a Yagi style antenna.

that will give you some guidance as to what channels are available in your area, also where the towers are…
If you are lucky all chan that you have interest are in the same direction if not than it might make things a bit more interesting…
Beware of non brand-name antenna if you’re seeking low signal… also normally the more gain an antenna has the more it’s directionnal…
