GA-7PESH2 comparable motherboard

i was looking around on MET saw they have Supermicro X9DRI-LN4F and X9DRI-F at a decent price
The X9DRI-F has 8Dimm
and the X9DRI-LN4F has 12 Dimm and more PCI slots

Would love to hear everyones thoughts on these

Thanks!!

I just ordered the X9DRI-LN4F+ for my own build since the 7PESH2 board became extinct. Just be aware that very few cases will fit that board without modification.

I also went with the LN4F+ for my build absolutely love it. Depending on your needs though, you can find that board in a supermicro 826 or 836 and sometimes it can come out cheaper if you were going to buy ram and a processor anyways.

Dont see any of the steals right now, but just dont rule them out.

Also avoid the REv 1.10 boards.

X9DRI-LN4F+ was THE board before PESH2 came around. PESH2 was a value leader. LN4F+ is no slouch. I bought 2, still have one left. Case compatibility is one “issue” for me. But Enthoo pro fits it fine.

There’s a comparison of 2011 boards here. It’s no guide, but if you know what you’re looking for it should be of use.

The only reason to avoid them is if you plan to use v2 CPUs.

The Phanteks Enthoo Pro will fit EE-ATX (these boards) stock, only 5 standoffs will line up though.

If I find a SuperMicro server or rack on Ebay that has the motherboard I want (like a LN4F+) and ECC ram, can I pick it up and just pop those parts into a Enthoo Pro case? I don’t have a rack at my house.
