Hey guys. Great community!
I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but what do you think of the Dell PowerEdge T40 9YP37 for 385€ (see bellow) to work as a NAS?
Dell PowerEdge T40 9YP37
Intel Xeon E-2224G
8 GB DDR4-SDRAM 2666 MHz
1000 GB HDD
Thank you!
I don’t think it’s a good deal. It will work just fine as a NAS, though, despite only having 1 or 2 drive bays.

Thank you for your feedback.
After some research, I’m able to get the following build for a total of 300 EUR (+/- 352 USD):
Motherboard: ASRock Z87M Extreme 4
CPU: i5-4670
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED Turbo Red Top Cover
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16 GB (4x4 GB)
Case: Fractal Design Node 804
Cache: Kingston SSD A400 240GB
PSU: Corsair CX450M 80+ Bronze
What do you think?
Thank you!

jpslvie:
Kingston SSD A400 240GB
I’m replacing the Kingston SSD A400 240GB with a Samsung SSD EVO 860 250 GB, for the same price.

While I don’t think either price is a good deal, the 2224G is a more capable CPU clock for clock and given the more current quicksync generation, it would do far better with hardware transcoding work.
