Hi everyone. I’m looking to build a home server. All parts are used parts at a cheap price.
Can I get some opinions, please?
CPU Intel Xeon Platinum 8176 ES
CPU Cooler Supermicro SNK-P0070APS4 LGA 3647
Motherboard ASRock Rack EP2C621D16-4LP EEB Server Motherboard Dual Socket
Memory 32gb ddr4 2666 ecc x 4 RAM
Storage Samsung 970 EVO Plus MZ-V7S2T0B/AM 2TB V-NAND NVMe M.2
Video Card GTX 960
Case Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2
Power Supply 1000W EVGA
What is this for? How much is “cheap”?

Just server to run vms. Cost is not a problem because all will be used parts from ebay.
I just concern about compatibility because there is no pcpartpicker for servers. Thanks
Cost is always a problem. “VM’s” isn’t a specific use case, just about anything can run multiple VMs…

If you are going that big on CPU and MB, why only 32GB RAM?
I guess I’m chopped liver. Good luck with your future endeavors.

That is a $500 motherboard (ebay) and a $350 cpu (ebay, ignoring what appear to be scam china links with fake cpus).
And for vms you probably want more RAM - which is pricey for DDR4
You should look into a snafu build here on the forums
I bought a ESXi server on ebay for (hyve zeus 1U - LGA2011) for $230 - 16c/32t total
