Storage came from my old server, everything else was new. Planning to add 16gb more of RAM in the near future. I thought I’d be able to fit a water cooler in this case, but the mobo is too big for the fan wall to remain so right now the radiator is just sitting in there until I can buy an air cooler to match the other CPU. Ended up with 2x v1 E5-2650s instead of the v2, but I’m happy with their performance for now until I feel like grabbing a couple of v2 chips.
This case is Rosewill’s follow up to the L4500. The drive slots are an EXTREMELY tight squeeze, its quite difficult to put HDDs next to each other in the slots. I’d like to replace these drive cages with hot swap modules later if possible anyway, so I’m spacing my drives a part from each other for now.
The server lived in a cardboard box for a few weeks before I had the money for a case.
I’ll get a rack one day.
