Are you referring to rack nuts?
They were brought up a little while ago by someone. No one found what they are or another source for them.
I see. I don’t think they are necessary for mounting the rails.
They are absolutely necessary, otherwise the rails will not sit in the right place.
I mistakenly bought the rosewill rails referenced in the first post of this thread, and the instructions for those rails reference these washers as well, but rosewill does not include them in the package.
Something like this might work:

They aren’t recessed, but if the screws are too short, you can get longer ones.
The nice thing about the unnamed countersunk washers is that it allows the case to sit flush against the rack posts.
The washers are to be used on the opposite side of the rack post from the case rails just like in the diagram you posted. The case rails are threaded, and the washer sits between the screw head and the rack post. The result would be the same regardless of what washer you used.
Yes, I suppose you can use whatever you’d like on the side of the rack where nothing is sliding into it, but for the “front” of the rack, the countersunk washers are necessary.
If you are creative and mechanically inclined, there are still plenty of ways to make those work.
You can modify the ears on the case to fit over the rail mount points.
If no one but you is accessing the rack and nothing else is going to disturb it, you can remove the rack ears entirely.
If you have a center punch, you can quickly turn those into recessed washers.
etc…
Or, you just have to keep searching for the elusive washer.
So this post is getting old. But the chassis and the slides are still easily available. I just recently (yesterday) put a set of these together. I followed your notes and they worked great and helped a lot. But I have a few more notes that may help someone in the future. Here are my notes:
One thing that has changed is the mounting holes in the RSV-L4500 for the center slide. Mine were M4 size. I got some short ones at Home Depot for a couple of bucks and that worked fine.
A bigger issue is that my rack (this one: https://www.newegg.com/p/2BA-001H-001W6?Item=9SIA4FHFY25582) has round threaded holes instead of square ones. Fortunately, the rack holes were large enough for the slide mounting screws to go right through, but small enough that the screw heads would not. It worked great but I am not sure every rack with threaded holes would be the same.
For those (like me) who are less familiar with racks:
- Mount the slide supports exactly in the middle of the 4U area you want the rack in.
- Watch for tipping. If you slide a full RSV-4500 all the way out your rack may tip over unless it’s fastened down or has other heavy things in it. (The RSV-4500 is my first rack mounted equipment. I put it almost on the bottom (2U up to leave room for a UPS). At that height, even if the rack tips, it doesn’t fall over because the chassis stops it.
- Consider removing all the drives until the chassis is mounted. Putting anything on slides is hard enough without the huge weight in the front to struggle with. BTW: mine is not full, it has 8 drives it it.
