I picked up four of these
2 for kid homeschool and minecraft / terraria pcs
1 for my dad who needs to ditch his ancient laptop
1 because why not

Currently awaiting a GPU for one of the kids ones but will be putting them into service most likely running ubuntu.

There aren’t many (modern) GPUs that the PS can power - what are you putting in?

The G4900 isn’t a powerhouse in terms of raw CPU power, interestingly the box itself does support i3-8100, i5-8400, and i7-8700. Probably can run a number of 1151 CPUs but those are the only listed as supported.

I’ve already advised him on the GPU.
The PSU has plenty of power, considering the low idle of the PC.

GT1030 or RX450/550 are plenty low power enough.

After consulting with JDM and the rest of the crew I went with one of these for each:

Very interesting for a potentially dedicated Home Assistant or pfsense box.

Any word on proxmox or esxi capabilities (and therefore passthrough) for making part of a cluster?

To late out of stock. is this not a good machine for plex server?

That’s an odd way to ask a question.

It is a good machine for an entry-level dedicated QuickSync transcoder.

lol sorry. Just looking around cuz a need a plex server for home and one person use. I wore looking at NK4.O but still indecisive and looking around for options.

NK 4.0 is a NAS and is storage oriented. It should serve for your purposes just fine. If you need more power, you can always add an external QuickSync server later.

I have two 4TB drive from one of the promo you run a shile ago. that’s sufficient and more than the space i need. Will need to take a decision and pull the buy.

Ya the 290 won’t help you there, it only has one HDD slot.

ok thanks moving along.

You can snugly fit 4 across the Rosewill L4500, or 3 with plenty of room.
You can fit two rows, so either 8 or 6 total.

Make sure if you’re putting them side by side you leave an 1" gap as the side grill is really the only intake spot. If you take out the dvd drive to let in more air you might be able to get away with putting them right against each-other.
